that is a standard analogue camera, which i assume you have a standard analogue dvr, so it will work.

i have obviously been out of the game to long seeing as though cmos in standard analogue cameras is making its come back.

Thx for the feedback, im thinking it should work, just need some confirmation

Plugged it in and doesnt seem to be working... sigh

"HDTVI" this is your clue .
"Adopt HDTVI technology"
I do not think your DVR will support this .

I replaced my cheap BoB setup with AHD Provision ISR and it's a huge difference.
It wont help putting good cameras on a cheap DVR, you are wasting your money. What does help a bit is cheap cameras on a decent DVR, you get a better picture but still deprived of the actual ability/clarity.
If you get a decent DVR make sure it accepts non AHD cameras.

the camera has a standard 1Vp-p Composite Output(75Ω / BNC) video output so it should be working, are you sure there is power etc?

do you have a bnc to rca plug? if so check if the camera is even functioning.

What you could do is buy an IP camera, they are a bit more expensive but you will be able to see the picture when you play it back and most of them already are capable of reading number plates + you can view it from any pc,smart phone ect...

Hi

Yes standard connectors on the camera, composite bnc. The supplier informed me it should work, and that i may need to try an alternate 12v source.

yeah agreed, my guess is that the camera is either not working, or there is a power issue.

These tend to be pricey. Do you have a model in mind?

I tested this camera yesterday, and the quality is good + the mouthing bracket is also good. I take it since you want to point it to the gate you want to be able to play back ( the analog cameras pictures are crap when you play back and you hardly can make out anything )as well as read the vehicles number plate

I would like to test this one as well but the guy at the shop told me the quality on them are the same even though the one below is a bit more expensive also more compact. http://securitycameras.co.za/index.php?id_product=363&controller=product
