HI all,

So I have to buy ceiling fans for my kids' rooms (2 of those). Currently have really old lights in their rooms, and it is too dim for them. Figure we get rid of the standing fans too.

Any suggestions for fans which are easily hackable with Sonoff iFans or controllable via RF (I have a Sonoff RF Bridge)?

I was looking at these this morning:
Zebbies Lighting - Goshawk - White Ceiling Fan with Reversible Blades | Buy Online in South Africa | takealot.com
Bright Star Lighting - Ceiling Fan - White | Buy Online in South Africa | takealot.com
Swift Led 4 Blade White Ceiling Fan - (lightingwarehouse.co.za)

but I'd rather take the one I know will be easily modded with an iFan or Home Assistant.

As far as I know you need a fan with a manual control to swap out for the Sonoff. So that's the Bright Star but those four blade fans are horrible compared to a more stable three blade fan.

Maybe someone else has messed with the electronic versions.

What bugged me about the earlier Sonoff iFan devices is that you couldn't schedule the speed settings. This is far more important to me as you may want it on full blast in the evening but come four am the temperature has cooled somewhat which makes running at a lower speed more sensible.

Oh, ok, so you mean a fan with the old knob at the wall to control them?

Also looks like the Solent fans will work, since you can decide if you want a wall regulator or a remote: Solent

Ugh, after a couple of months the one Bright star retractable makes noise while turning. Has anybody returned one? Worked with their aftersales support?
