if you gonna buy celeron and a board rather go with amd semptrons they kick the kuk outta intel's low end cpu's
 
I have to agree, I had to supply a budget system and went with a 754 rather than a Celeron. Having had to set up a Celeron D the other day, the difference is stunning

I used a 2800 Sempron CPU with a Gigabyte K851 MB - It comes with on-board 6200 display, 5.1 Sound, SATA II and Firewire

It blew away the Celeron in every direction

Also remember that the 754 AMD 64 Semprons will run 64 bit software

i check acer has amd semptron 3000+ notebooks

wonder how that would compare to say a centrino 1.7?
 
the new AMD turion notebooks are the **** ... .I have to say I was impressed when using one for the first time. I am a AMD guy myself but am left helpless when the customer wants an Intel.
 
when ppl ask for intel i try and tell em amd is better has worked on alot of occations

but you get the guys who want mecer or intel becaue everyone knows it
