Cell C becoming Vodacom lite

Nearly all the new executives Cell C CEO Jorge Mendes appointed to his leadership team are former Vodacom employees.

On 1 July 2023, Mendes took over as Cell C's chief executive. He replaced Douglas Craigie Stevenson, who resigned in March 2023 after a three-and-a-half-year stint.

Cell C has been lite for ages.
I tried with them years ago but their customer service center just did not listen when you called with an issue. A simple fix to their website would have kept me a client back then… but who knows, maybe they’re a better option that Telkom these days… might want to give them another go.

Well seeing as they have zero assets besides the spectrum they are trying to quietly quietly move to the holding company (I assume to then reauction off to the highest bidder to get out of debt when Blue Label declare Cell C bankrupt). I am little unsure what these new people are going to do. Their network has been sold off, they are a MVNO of MTN and Vodacom, without the benefits of being a MVNO with all the physical stores of a actual cellphone company with none of the benefits of actually being a network operator. Can't compete on price (other MVNO can do it cheaper), can't compete on service (they are a MVNO, if the MTN. tower sucks where u live Cell C can't fix that), so where can they compete?

Honestly for me Telkom is still best.

MTN is full of spam callers on a much grander scale than Telkom.

Vodacom overpriced.

Telkom Prepaid is the way to go.
