Hi guys.... I need some advice

I am currently on a MTN anytime 100(R100 airtime and 25sms's pm) and my contract is almost over. I am looking to move from mtn because the included airtime never lasts me the whole month because I use like 30mb-45mb pm(R60-R90) and the call rates are too high.

I mainly use data for mxit and facebook and whatsapp.... Also random browsing like forums and so on. So i decided that bundles are the way to go. With mtn u cannot buy a bundles with the included airtime.... I tried.... So I am going to move to Vodacom or Cell C.

Here are my options

1) Cell C control chat 100(R115 airtime, 100 sms pm). Taking out the value of the phone.... Will cost me R42 a month just for airtime and sms

2) Cell C 80(R80 airtime, 100 sms). Taking out the value of the phone.... Will cost me R25 a month just for airtime and sms

3) Vodacom Top up 49(R49 airtime, i dont think any sms's). Taking out the value of the phone.... Will cost me R28 a month just for airtime

The good thing bout Cell C is that mxit is free, can anyone confirm this?, and the have that free data and minutes and sms deals.... I not sure if it is still on.... Also have 100mb bundle for R50. Are there any problems with Cell C like network issues.

The good thing about Vodacom is Color Ur Friends, R29 for 100mb and 100 sms. Does any one know if that can be purchased with the R49 included airtime? Any network problems with Vodacom?

All 3 options have the same phone so either contract is good with me. Please help me with information especially if you are on any of those 3 packages.

Thanx a mill

Not sure about any other of the questions, but you can buy bundles with included airtime with vodacom (I'm on a topup bundle myself). Their bundles are very expensive though, so you might want top take that into consideration.

thats good to know.... The 100 sms and 100 mb for R29 is very cheap. What top up are u on? And how is vodacoms internet connection

That 100mb is so limited though, like only mxit and facebook and any other bundle you buy overrides that one. Also got excited at first.

EDIT: Never mind, think they may have changed this to anything, can anyone confirm?

I'm on Vodacom TopUp and my daughter on CellC control chat:

Vodacom sucks: Per minute billing only!!!; Premium price for contract!!! (you pay more than the rand value); Connection fee is higher; Online portal is limiting

CellC sucks: My daughter has bad reception where she lives;

Vodacom rules: better coverage for 3G where I live

CellC rules: per second billing; better & cooler phones; online portal gives you access to many functions - voice mail, billing, etc; no bloated premium pricing, you pay the rand value (or less) of your airtime; free SMS

Needless to say that Im looking at moving to CellC next year when my contract expires.

at ghost. the 100mb is now for anything. not onky mxit and fb

i checked up and vodacom top up does offer per second billing

i dont use 3g because it is too unstable.... And when it drops down to edge(especially if you travelling) most apps need to be restarted to get a connection. So i stick with the constant edge to avoid that. But on cell c coverage map, my area has good 3g coverage

I think i am going to go with cell c, but i am going to port to prepaid for 2 weeks and check if i have any problems and also to monitor airtime usage.

If while my phone is on, and ppl who try calling me gets voicemail then i am going with vodacom.

But cell c call rates are dam cheap... They really are the cheapest by far

does anyone know how to add tags to this thread.... I want to see what cell c and vodacom replies with

I recently left CellC for vodacom because of signal issues and must say I am more happy with Vodacom.

Slightly old thread, but can anyone confirm that you're allowed to use ControlChat Airtime, or "Value" as they sometimes call it, to buy a data bundle? Control Chat balance and normal Airtime balance seems to be treated differently...
