Hi guys,

How does Cell-C's credit rating system work?

So here's the story:

I finished studying (1 year Marketing Diploma - Oxford college) in March this year, moved to Pretoria and started working in April.

After which I opened an Edgars account & Cell-C month to month contract in May 2013, which I've paid every single month without skipping any payments.

Yesterday I go to Cell-C Kolonade to upgrade to a 24 month S4 contract (R384 per month), and the lady tells me my credit limit is now R300 Top Up Only.

I now work as a sales rep for Maxidor, and as you can imagine I am on my cell most of the day (Calls, emails, text messaging etc etc), constantly recharging with airtime is starting to be a real inconvenience.

Why the hell can't they up my limit that little bit extra? I've been a loyal customer for more than 4 months and I've never skipped a payment!

Very short credit history, better luck in 1 year. So get the highest month-to-month Cell C for now without the phone (that R300).

Is this about calling a lot and loading airtime being a bother or wanting the S4? Wait till next year and get the S5.

I also had the same issue - eventually asked the CellC rep to assist.

Did you manage to get the contract after contacting the Cell C rep? I'll PM him as well then.

Both.

This morning I had to call another client (it was urgent), but my airtime was depleted, tried to recharge using my FNB account but when I dialed the cellphone banking number it gave me an error "You don't have sufficient funds for this service", so I had to drive to the BP Garage to buy airtime.

And I'm planning on using the S4 as GPS, I prefer Google maps to my old Tom Tom.

PS: Yes, I know I can use the FNB app to buy airtime, but have you tried using the Blackberry version? It's horrible.

The S4 doesn't run the Blackberry version of the FNB app :p

I I were you, I'd stick to prepaid. Use the app to conveniently buy airtime and data bundles.

Next time use the following codes to recharge - *130*321#

Double WOW!!!!

Been a loyal Vodacom client with half a dozen contracts for over 7 years and monthly bill over R1K, never skipped a payment, yet the damn tossers still insisted on a stupid credit cheque for a R99 Top Up data contract a few months back.

I cannot believe it.

[/sarcasm off]

@OP just grow up, this is the real world now. 4 months means jack.

Oh wow, is this how you are justifying your S4 now. And yes, I have an FNB account and the FNB app installed on my Blackberry.

Yay, a whole 4 months and you been working in the work force for less of a year. Dude, you are giving yourself way too much credit :)

Upgrade done.

Phone will arrive within 3-7 working days.

Thank you Cell-C rep :)
Congratulations, you have successfully dragged CellC's name through the mud due to your own immaturaty in understanding how the real world works

I promote them enough.

Switched 7 family members over to them already (Contracts).

I shouldn't be surprised at your reply, forums are always full trolls.

Your OP is more of a troll post than that.

People take years to build good credit records and you expect 4 payments to make a difference? So much so that you get upset at CellC?

Patience is required. You have many years of life left don't rush past life just because you have toys you CAN throw out the cot.
