Cell C Data Dongle Refund Delays [solved]

I could not agree with u more Mikdog... Cell C is absolutely useless! I also bought the 7.2mbps modem and it use to disconnect/drop 30x a day and enjoyed epic speeds of 15kbps the odd time it worked. I got it from CNA in Gateway Durban, returned it within the 7 day period and the Manager also tried his stunts with me regarding the refund, but i quickly showed him on the T&C form that i can return it if not satisfied with the product. Thankfully they too do not know much about the Cell C Modem and return policy, so i got the full R1500 back :) My luck i guess!

And as for their call centre.. no words can describe the stupidity that exists there.. 1 guy didnt even know what Modem i was talking about as according to him Cell C do not offer Fast Internet USB Modems.. LOL

I haven't had any problems with dongle. But how the **** does it happen that my sister is waiting for TWO MONTHS for a el cheapo phone?! I mean, da ****?

This is unacceptable.

ok folks, lets keep bumping this thread so that it stays up for as looooooooooong as it needs.
As long as it needs for what exactly? OP's mother received her refund:
My mother's received the refund minus R200/R250 odd for handling fees (Cell C couriered the dongle across the country before we could get a refund two months later - what else could cost so much?)

While I've crossed this off the list of things to do, I'll leave this thread unaltered.

@ Prophet > no. **** service was followed up with polite enquiries week after week. After 2 months I resorted to public shaming. What does it say about me? Well I gave Cell C multiple chances to correct their mistake and gave them the benefit of the doubt day after day week after week, for 2 months. Thereafter, not so much.

The refund has been made. Still waiting for confirmation of handling fees to be repaid. Interestingly enough posting on the mybroadband forums resulted in swifter action than a hellopeter.com complaint - however - refund may have been due to case finally reaching a head after 2 months of prodding, gathering information, contacting various centers and individuals and providing case information that Cell C employees were supposed to provide - essentially doing the work of multiple employees after it became apparent my case had fallen through the cracks so it may be coincidence that result occurred soon after posting here.

In any event I'm pleased this case is public in the form of a searchable forum post. The refund doesn't make everything ok - it was an expected refund. It just took far too long and far too much effort to get it done, akin to slowly tapping my head against a brick wall.

Cell C - you have a detractor in me. I'd be doing my fellow consumers a disservice by remaining silent.

Bam, another angry client... everyone i have spoken to in the western cape, that has been cursed by Cell C's "whoosh" are having the same problems i have seen on all these threads.

I live in CT and have had no issues till today. Hopefully they will sort out the speed problem. But overall I have been very happy with the dongle.
