@ Prophet > no. **** service was followed up with polite enquiries week after week. After 2 months I resorted to public shaming. What does it say about me? Well I gave Cell C multiple chances to correct their mistake and gave them the benefit of the doubt day after day week after week, for 2 months. Thereafter, not so much.
The refund has been made. Still waiting for confirmation of handling fees to be repaid. Interestingly enough posting on the mybroadband forums resulted in swifter action than a hellopeter.com complaint - however - refund may have been due to case finally reaching a head after 2 months of prodding, gathering information, contacting various centers and individuals and providing case information that Cell C employees were supposed to provide - essentially doing the work of multiple employees after it became apparent my case had fallen through the cracks so it may be coincidence that result occurred soon after posting here.
In any event I'm pleased this case is public in the form of a searchable forum post. The refund doesn't make everything ok - it was an expected refund. It just took far too long and far too much effort to get it done, akin to slowly tapping my head against a brick wall.
Cell C - you have a detractor in me. I'd be doing my fellow consumers a disservice by remaining silent.
