Cell C data sucks

I was in Australia recently and got a sim there and I was amazed at the kind of speed I could get on my cell when browsing or doing anything Internet related. It was a total pleasure doing anything Internet related on my phone.

Back here in SA it is striking how crap the data connectivity of Cell C is. Slow, non responsive & pathetic.

I'm thinking of giving Afrihost a go. I take it they piggy back off MTN ? Would it be better than Cell C?

I'd rate it as adequate. It's certainly not excitingly quick. The big advantage for me is that you can control the bundles easily, don't ever have out of bundle issues, and the price is OK.

I am with cellc after using afrihost mobile.. I wont go back to afrihost mobile.. there was week that the tower was offline and afrihost people could not help me . they told me I need to talk to mtn.But I am paying afrihost ....

If I have a issue with cellc I just pop twitter and they normally call me back.
Been using the 100GB bundle and 0 issues. Go look at the afrimobile thread and see there are full days where U will have zero internet or even weeks in my case

Stay away from afrihost mobile it's a pain in the back APN settings you need to change, APN down numerous times in past 3 months and overall it's just a living nightmare, and then you stil have to deal with whatever problems MTN has, which seems to be also a lot.

Jeez. APN settings changes are no more effort than a username and password.

Technically you need to change them when you change any Cellular provider.

CellC is awful. Afrihost 3g wasn't great either in my opinion. I don't have a bad word to say about Telkom.
