Telkom cables were stolen and desparate for internet contacted cell C with whom I have a cell phone contract. I enquired about purchase of a modem and the lady I spoke to mentioned about R400 - anyway was shocked to learn that it was R1399 - but Cell C does not care - simply because her job was to sell me a sim card - doesnt matter if she lied - everything is on tape - yet no feedback. No wonder the company's sales are dropping. Oh did I mention that in desparation for internet I went to Cell C shop 70 km away - and had to buy a stick which I did not want which came with free 3 gigs for R600 - none of this works in the mountains where I live. So its money thrown away. Cell C's answer boils down to the fact that even though I enquired about a price of modem/router - and that their staff member lied - she should have said I do not know the price - the mere fact that I agreed to the terms I have lost my case. Well of course they never return calls and it has cost me a fortune - now dealing with head office and also to no avail. Now big joke is they going to listen to recordings within the 7 day period from the time I received the sim card to see if I phoned to cancel the contract. Guess what Cell C - your seller lied and therefore I have spoken to a lawyer and you have lost your case. This is just to make all consumers aware - Cell C deserves the link Im posting below
