Cell C Direct: Don't buy from them

Thought I'd share my experience of oredring a phone from them. Man what poor service. Forget the advertising, the service from cell c direct is pathetic.

I ordered a contract from them a month ago and they turned it down and refuse to tell me why and this after spending over 4 hours of my time on thier Customer care line and spending R80 faxing them documents they requested. And at the same time vodacom and MTN has no problem offering me a contract. Mmm...

My suggestion stay clear from Cell C direct Unless you want to be ripped off. I'm just gonna renew my MTN contract or just go prepaid.

BTW: I have a data bundle form Cell C (bought at a cell c shop) and it rocks.
 
They turned down the contract how is that bad customer service? It happens. The person you spoke to might also not KNOW why it was turned down(since they dont approve or decline anything) hence not telling you.
 
Never buy from any of these 'direct' places eg. Cell C direct or Vodacom direct or any place where there's no physical store.

Whenever you get problems, either with the activation of the sim or the replacement of the phone if it's not working within 7 days, they completely disown responsibility for the sale. Sometimes they don't even bother answering the phones...
 
I had a similar experience a while back with Cell C Direct which eventually evolved into almost daily (expensive) calls both ways and the resulting anger and frustration, and which did not in the end actually produce the agreed phone delivered to my doorstep. Never again!

In the end my local Cell C dealer agreed to match the deal, resolving the issue. That's when the notorious Cell C billing hassles started, sigh.... Moral of the story: prepaid all the way now, and Cell C's data promotion rocks.
 
The golden rules when it comes to data, stay away from contracts.
 
Mmm... turning down a business client with a good credit History is pretty retarded but hey that's just my opinion...

And I got to agree the data promotion though is very good and mine is still going strong. Prepaid FTW.
