I'm thinking of getting the Giga 30 Prepaid in October.

Although I am unable to answer your original questio I can advise, if you can stick it out wait until Black Friday. Last year the Giga 50 was R500. Although the data expired in 6 months. Hopefully a good deal in the pipeline.
