Hey guys i see alot of you also have serious issues with Cell C and i must add that i am also really disspointed with the outcome of this service from Cell C. Its very slow in PE at the moment and the upload speeds are terrible!

regards

sorry to hear that. my speeds here in durban are normal. do you think your tower is over-burdened (i.e. too many users)?

Hi Chris

PM me and we'll try to find out what is wrong and how we can sort it out. Best

Lars

Hi Guys,

Speeds were really good until the 2nd of Jan 2011, this day was the first time i started having disconnects and very slow upload speeds. Prior to this i was uploading at speeds of 2mbps and downloading @ 12mbps which was really great. I dont know what your have done wrong but its sure going downhill at the moment. Look i support your product but u need to start support your clients back in return.
The area i am in is Linton Grange/Westering Port Elizabeth.

Please help guys its getting too much now and i have spent alot of money on buying other modems to make it work properly

It seems they have soft throttled uploading everywhere in SA to a trickle.

dude im in ptn too and at the moment my cell c is horrifically slow :(
Actually been like this for a few weeks now but because of studies i havent had time to complain..
Xbox live is all but useless these days, infact i even have trouble logging onto the service lately.

I wonder what is causing it and if i should try find an inexpensive aerial :/

I have had PM's sent to me about Cell C wanting to help.... I have sent them mail in January about this issue and the reponse i only got end of Feb which in my eyes is very bad service.
Sometimes i think maybe this internet stuff is not meant for us all...maybe we need to teach the ISP's a lesson and not buy bandwidth for a year. Service is this country has gone for a ball of sh*t.

Chris, CellC will help & sort out issues.
I have learned to be patient, its best that way else ill get a heart attack ;)
Last 2 days have in fact been flying - 6-8mb/s download & 2mb/s upload speeds - woooooooooooosh!!!

Well I hope so! I have sent back the Black dongle 1820 in for repairs because it was just not stable and on its return from Cell C it was worse, i recieved a fault report saying that they have updated the firm ware on the device which was a real joke because little do they know that i have checked all the ins and outs on the device. I went over to vodacom and bought one of their modems and it works better than that 1820 after it came back. I decided to break the 1820 and dump it. I stil have slow internet and disconnects but not nearly as bad as the black unit.

That 1820 was amazing until jan 2011
