How is 1% a VAT increase considered a "hike"? Or am I missing something?
A 1% increase in VAT, and suddenly everyone seems to want to hike up pricing by like 10%.

R100 is R114. An increase of 1% is now R115 so actually it's a 0.877% increase. People don't seem to understand that VAT is already a small component and doesn't correspond directly to the end price so they view it as 15/14 which is a 7.143% increase and opportunists get away with it.How is 1% a VAT increase considered a "hike"? I just curious on how they going to deal with 24 months fixed contracts
Cos I remember last year they increased their prices too and called it annual increment
They will increase the VAT from 14 to 15%. That's it.
So to confirm... they didn't... my CellC 20/20 Fibre went form R899 to R944 pm... hardly a 1% increase from the VAT.
Anyone else with similar issues?
