Cell C is disgusting!

Hi guys,

I need somewhere to vent and basically just give an account of the shocking service I have received from Cell C.

As some of you may know, Cell C gave me two contracts that I took out with the confirmation that they were promo deals (R280 per month for Active Chat 100, Samsung Galaxy SII, 250MB of data, itemised billing and insurance). I am already into my second month of these contracts and this has not been the case.

I have been charged an incorrect subscription fee, as well as data charges due to Cell C not loading my data bundle on time and charging me OOB rates.

I was promised two weeks ago by both the Cell C rep on this forum as well as the only person from their frankly useless call centre that has had the decency to call me during these two months, that the account will be corrected, the credits will be passed and I will be paying the correct bill. None of that has come to pass.

I informed Cell C last week that I would yet again be returning their debit orders, and that they should not block my lines as the error is on their side. No one bothered to call me back or even respond to my email, but lo and behold my lines are blocked. I cannot even receive incoming calls and messages, and will need to buy a prepaid sim just to be able to do my job (I use my cellphone as part of my job).

Now honestly, this service, if you can even call it that, is disgusting. That managers and team leaders "forget" to call you back, that their billing department seems to be some high powered area that receives queries, does not bother to deal with them and has no point of escalation for this is shocking.

I am not going to bother wasting my time extoling how useless I find this company, how I recommend anyone and everyone that is considering Cell C as a service provider to stay as far away from them as possible (oh wait, I just did). I have given up on this company, and they have left a very bitter taste in my mouth, along with an immense amount of frustration and anger.

So Cell_C, I want you to do the following for me ASAP:

1. Cancel my two contracts with immediate efferct. I feel that as per the CPA (and maybe someone with more knowledge on this can guide me) you are not providing me with the service I agreed to and signed up for.

2. Release the number that I had ported to your company in order for me to port this to another service provider- it is MY number after all.

3. Arrange collection of your devices.

I want no further dealings with Cell C, and will advise everyone I know to do the same.

I had a different view of them until yesterday. And all the positive remarks I made in the past about them confronted me. I wondered whether I knew what I was talking about back then

I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt. But having to follow up on every single call I make is ridiculous.

Just yesterday I was told by one of the team leaders (a chap by the name of Doyle) that he would call me back at 5pm to provide me with feedback regardless of whether he received a response from the eponymous billing department or not. Quarter past five, and I called him back to receive zero feedback, that he is only in at 12pm today and can only follow up for me then.

So in the interim I must just accept having no ability to contact anyone, whether work related or otherwise, and not be able to be contacted.

Boggles the mind this...
 
Dude, I had the same, exact same, problem with cell c. Search for my thread, if you'd like. LARS, got in touch with me aand sorted it out.

Very sad Cell C.

EDIT: And as wallsend did, email them and send them a link to this page. Nothing motivates companies faster than bad publicity. Splash it all over their facebook page, too.
