Hey guys, hope someone can advise me. Took out a contract with Cell C yesterday, originally wanted an LG G Pro lite but ended up taking a G2 because they had no stock. . When we opened the box in store I discovered that the headphone jack is at the bottom of the phone, which is gonna cause me problems when the phone is in my pocket. According to them I had to pay a cancellation fee of a R1000 to change the phone to something else. I ended up taking the phone home because I can't afford to throw that much away where I discovered the phone only has 10gigs of usable space despite the salespeople stating that it has 32GB. I really am not happy about this phone and need advice about getting this sorted out, I tried the helpline but according to them the stores work differently from them and isn't there a 7 day "cooling off period when it comes to these contracts ?

1. Get a microSD card.
2. Put the phone upside down in your pocket.

You guys have no clue.

First off, the sales people were misinformed, and you as a result. I would jump up and down as a result, and make them change it for free.

Secondly, despite the relatively small storage size, my G2 is serving me spectacularly well, and if you can I would give it a chance.

If all else fails, threaten with the usual. Ombudsman, etc. It shouldn't come to that though, particularly if you "talk" it through with a manager - either at the store or the call centre.

I just want to say, the headphone jack at the bottom is an awesome idea. The only time I put my phone in my pocket "right way up" is when I have headphones plugged in, any other time I prefer it goes in upside down so I can pull it out and move it straight to my ear in one move. I've been doing it that way for over a decade, it just makes more sense.

I do the same, but mostly b3cause the speaker is also at the bottom, so I can listen to podcasts, music etc. without headphones if I want to. Also good for car docks, etc. I agree, it just makes sense.

Firstly, the G2 is possibly the best mid size smartphone for 2013. Many international reviewers agree that LG is doing so much more to add to the game, more so than the S4.... Then, yes, I agree that sometimes the salesmen and woman are not that well informed, but that you'll have to take up with the store itself, not the Network Operator. You can start to push rank and demand they take it back, but then that's all up to you. Personally, I feel the G2 is actually better than both my Samsung's I had, namely the S4 and Note 3... Give it a few days and you'll see how good it actually is... Oh, and I wouldn't worry too much about the little storage place on the phone. Simply link you phone to Dropbox, and sync you pictures to cloud. I doubt you gonna want 10Gb's of music on your phone...? Movies too. Get you a tablet if you want games, movies and so forth...

But don't take my word for it, if you really don't want the phone, insist the store takes the phone back under the 7-day return policy and claim that the consultant misinformed you and as a result you took the wrong device for your needs... The once they have taken it back, ask them to find you a G Pro at a store near you, and then go and fetch it and re-sign a contract there. The ball is in your court as you were supplied with incorrect information which lead to a incorrect purchase...

SA only gets the LG G2 in 16GB.

When speaking to sales consultants (Vodacom) most of them told me they have the 32GB *fail*
I double checked with 1 Manager and he confirmed with LG SA that , NO 32GB for SA only 16GB.

I must say after owning a G2 its the best smartfone i have ever used.
Battery life is amazing, screen is stunning and its Super fast.

Honestly its Awesome in every way.

hope you get sorted soon.

I agree with JAM007... And any way, don't buy a G Pro now, cause the G Pro 2 is a few weeks away and it's like a big version of the G2... Much better than the G Pro 1....

I called the store and it turns out the manager is the one who sold me the phone in the first place. She won't believe that the phone has only 10 gb of actual space. I must say I like the phone, it's fast and I reckon I'll have future-proofed myself for the next 3-4 years at least with the phone. Apart from the space issue the fact that the FM radio reception of this is so kr@p is a serious issue for me. Am waiting for feedback from her, odd thing is Cell C says something else but she says something else as well.

The manager needs a wakeup call. Which store is it?

Root the phone and run a custom ROM which doesn't include all the bloat.

There isn't much bloat, and what is there is almost always uninstallable. Samsung should take a page out of LG's book.

Cell C Vincent Park in East London. Yesterday they sent me a page taken off LG's website which shows the phone as having internal memory of 16gb and ROM of 32gb. I called LG for clarification and the dude there says LG never brought a 32gig model here and he comfirms that there's only 10 gigs. Waiting on Cell C to get back to me still. I reckon I'll wait a few months, something good might come up.
