Cell C - Note 4 Contract pricing

Good morning, or not so good morning. After getting the shock of my life.

I enquired about upgrading my contract with Cell C and very interested in the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Telling me the cheapest on contract is R749 per month on a Smartchat contract. Is this possible? Other service providers offering at R499, R549 etc.

Can someone that knows what is going on from Cell C please inform me if this is true, then I can cancel my contract with Cell C and move to a more affordable and reliable network

My Brother went into the Branch in Amanzimtoti on Saturday and was told exactly the same thing ! Madness that they want to charge that when Vodacom are charging R499 on a smart small package for the Note 4 .

I see that, but I am due for upgrade at Cell C. Otherwise I must cancel Cell C and go with Telkom Mobile. Thanks for the info. Hope someone from Cell C can give us some insight into their ridiculous pricing. I mean even Vodacom is cheaper than they are, never thought that would ever happen.

I spoke to Cell C Pavilion this morning and they said it was R549 for a 1 Gb Smartchat contract, and R589 for a 3 Gb Smartchat contract. I have no idea what's happening with Cell C, and I'm getting rather tired of getting the run around from them. They also cannot tell me what model they're getting (C, F or H). Also no idea who has stock or when they might be getting stock.

Telkom Mobile does look like a good deal, but it's for the H model, which doesn't have LTE (not that any Note 4 model supports Telkom's 2.3 GHz LTE band).

Confirmed with multiple stores on the contracts mentioned above (R549), but Cell C direct seems to only have the much larger 6 gB data package, at R721. IT seems that they are only stocking the H model, which is very disappointing. I know their LTE service isn't up and running yet, but surely they should show some foresight. When they do launch LTE, it would be disappointing to not be able to access it, stuck with a non-LTE model. Looks like MTN or Vodacom for me then.
