Cell-C Roaming on Vodacom EDGE

Hmmm.. strange. I was in Constantia Village when it happened to switch over automatically.

In Plumstead at the moment and if I manually select Vodacom-SA it still doesnt work with data.

I just called 140, they said they are experiencing a general problem in the Western Cape.

thanks for the tip. the APN was on "apple.cellc.za" but even when I change it to "internet" and switch to vodacom it still doesn't get anywhere.

"internet" and "apple.cellc.za" both give me a bold "E" on my iphone when data is enabled and I'm on Vodascum.

both will show 'E', only 'internet' works however.
make sure 'data roaming' is set to on, leave APN as 'internet', should eventually connect that way on vodacom.

I see the article on disabling voda in cbd, if its disabled its just rather odd that it still hops over at all. Or am i misunderstanding?

I'm not sure exactly how it is supposed to work or not, but I have often seen the problem myself in Rondebosch / Newlands area as the phone appearing to establish an internet connection, but no data is flowing.

One thing you can try though, check whether your phone has any option to disable data while roaming.
