This morning a women by the name of 'Happiness' phoned my domestic worker and told her that Cell C is going to bring her a free Samsung Cellphone. Of course my domestic didn't click that she is actually on Vodacom and said "Ok."
They asked for her detail etc etc..
Unfortunately my domestic gave the women my address and my home phone number. As soon as my domestic told me about the phone call she received I immediately went crazy as she had given my address out to a stranger.
I phoned the same number back and this 'Happiness' women was very reluctant to talk when she heard my voice. She said that the Samsung phone will arrive. She kept saying "I don't have time to talk now." I kept replying angrily. She said "I can't talk right now" and hung up.

Has anyone else had a similar ordeal?

I'm not sure as to what is going to happen with my address + phone number.

When you returned the call, was it an authentic Cell C number that you called?

Worrying. Maybe you should buy your domestic her own phone and then she won't need to use yours.

It could be anyone, even genuine.
Im guessing it is not genuine as when I did call her she was very reluctant to talk and even hung up.

What may happen: A "delivery service" will arrive and when you open to receive "package", they can take you as hostage or distract you, while other slip through door and take your property. This is possible scenario. Stay alert.

Would not be surprised if both YOU are correct and it is actually a Genuine call. Was always wondering how CellC manages to keep their doors open :D

hey man. i dont think its anything to be concerned about. you just have to tell your domestic that shes entered into a contract. i get those calls a few times telling me that ive won a free phone. then once i ask a few questions its turns out to be telesales selling contracts. i bet its a samsung. it usually is.

oh and the reason why happiness was reluctant to talk afterwards was cause she just made a sale and didnt want to lose it.
