I went to the Bayside Centurion Cell C shop to enquire about doing a sim swop.
The girl behind the counter informed me it is R150-00 to do a sim swop, but R10-00 if I am on prepaid.
Are Cell C trying to milk the money cow?
On a postpaid contract they are guaranteed of receiving their money every month, while a prepaid sim can be used for a month and then be ditched.
Surely they can lower the prices of their postpaid contract sim swops, and instead raise the cost of the prepaid sim swops?
The simcard itself only costs R1-00, so why add R149-00 for a simswop if you know you are going to be getting a few thousand rand every month from the contract usage, while only charging R9-00 for a simswop where you don't know if it is going to be used tomorrow?
