Cell C starts building its virtual network on MTN's infrastructure

So Cell C is now an official MVNO running on Vodacom & MTN.

Cell C has already started to migrate its contract and broadband subscribers to Vodacom. This migration is expected to be completed in February.

It is understood that the operator’s prepaid subscribers will be migrated to MTN’s network.
Some clarity would be nice regarding Cell C's MVNO customers, since MVNOs are a different breed of contract customer, I am assuming that the MVNO customers will be migrated over to Vodacom's network.

My assumption is that the MVNO customers will stay on the CellC network (but its virtual one that lives on the Vodacom physical network)

The entropy of running a virtual machine inside of another virtual machine.

Is this why my VC connection is so **** ? Thanks CellC and VC.

So on which network will we be roaming while this transition takes place, MTN or Vodacom or both? I can't log on to the Vodacom 4G network and will be pissed if I'm forced to use their 3G.

We need more clarity on this @rpm

As far as I understand contract customers on Vodacom. This will happen from now to mid Feb and then prepaid will go onto MTN at a later date. If not yet moved over will still be on Cell C's network which mostly already roams on MTN

so they have 23000 towers now? All of Mtn and all of Vodacom. Wow...
