Cell C Stolen Device Blacklisting

Hi

Can anyone point me in the right direction. My phone was stolen on the 23rd of March 2022. I reported this to Cell C on the very day as i was told at the police station that i need an ITC number for me to open a police case. Almost three weeks and over ten calls later, I still haven't received that number. I can't claim from my insurance either because they need a police case number which I can't get until I get the ITC number.

Why does it take Cell C three weeks to generate an ITC number?

Yea but what is the point of blacklisting the things. it's an unnecessary step that just takes the phones out of the country and out of recovery range faster.

If they dont blacklist it, what will stop people from saying their phone is stolen just to get more phones?
