Cell C trialing unlimited leave

What are the financial benefits to doing this for an Org? Does it mean they don't have to hold your leave-money in reserve, for example?

Unlimited leave?

Sweet, I'll work a week then see you again a week before I retire.

Until some T's and C's are explained as to how this would work, this is how I choose to believe it does.

I'd be very interested to see how they structure this.

Its one of those systems that sounds great in PR brochures, but its how its implemented in reality that determines whether its worthwhile or not or becomes a stick that management use to make sure low level grunts work more than they should.

This is how it works:

We say on your contract that you get unlimited leave..

What we tell management though, is leave requests are approved based on headcount for any given day and make sure each employee only gets N amount of leave days approved, rejecting the rest with reason, due to company/headcount requirements..

Yes, which means they can do more "meaningful" things with those surplus funds.

Knowing CellC a FUP will apply.

Also waiting for Vodacom to claim it’s unsustainable…
Hah- beat me to it.

Throttle to half days after 3 weeks or something

Also- are they sure they don't mean limitless

I personally wouldnt take this ..

Speaking to 702, head of human resources at Investec SA, Lesley-Anne Gatter, said that from September 2019 the company will allow employees to take unlimited leave days as long as they meet their deadline requirements.

The problem is you are given 2 many deadlines that you can never meet = no leave
Imagine trying to take 3 weeks leave under this type of system
