It is already live in some area's they still rolling out
I see using the 'Network Cell Info' app on my phone it picks up LTE cells are available in my area, but does not connect to them.
I am guessing MTN's network will be broadcasting Cell C's MNC to support seemless handover.
So we will not know when we are roaming, because it will look like the home network to our phone.
I also have a feeling Cell C were waiting for MTN to launch VoLTE before taking the roaming live.
Was this 3G? Because Cell C is still roaming on Vodacom at present.I was at Honningklip today and my phone indicated I'm roaming ("R" symbol by the signal indicator). When I tried to use data it said that I have to enable roaming data and that it could cost a fortune (therefore off by default I assume). I enabled it and it work fine, reasonably fast (though I didn't run a speedtest). Checking with whoismyisp.org reported Cell C.
I'm with FNB (Cell C).
Don't know, it just has an "R" symbol next to the signal strength. Whoismyisp.org said Cell C.Was this 3G? Because Cell C is still roaming on Vodacom at present.
where are you located at? I would like to see how long it takes before cellc updates there mapLooks like MTN 3G/4G Roaming has just been taken live,
Getting 4G now in our area, yesterday only 3G was available in one section of town.
and MTN have had 4G here everywhere for a while now.
Also looks as if MTN are broadcasting both Cell C and their own network from the same equipment, meaning you do not get the roaming symbol.
exactly like RAIN does for Vodacom.
Richmond KZN 40km from PMBwhere are you located at? I would like to see how long it takes before cellc updates there map
Ill keep a eye on the map but atm its still showing 0 LTERichmond KZN 40km from PMB

But it seems rolling out is going on a steady pace
shoot some speed test our way?I can confirm this is the roaming on MTN as the cell id's are the same for MTN and cellc.
MTN on band 1 and cellc on band 3.
Any idea if you can do a non peak time test? to see how good they are vs peakA few more speedtests - seems like the towers are congested as max down is 5 but upload is over 20. Speedtest on tower in the suburbs is 60 down.
11am isn't peak is it? - will try late tonight or first thing early in the am.Any idea if you can do a non peak time test? to see how good they are vs peak
