Hi,

I'm on a soon to expire Cell C Active Chat 100 contract with an E71 phone. I've been thinking of renewing the contract but I've recently been into four different Cell C stores and have been very disapointed with the few phones they have to offer compared to MTN or VC.

Does anyone know if there's a reason that Cell C have such a limited range of phones and if I were to switch networks which would be the best to go with?

Thanks.

From what I've been reading on the forum here it would seem that Cell C are in a state of change at the moment. I'd like to get an HTC phone on my next contract but although their site shows several different HTC models none of their stores that I've been to have anything like these on display.

Cancel and ask for it................

Cancel the contract and ask for it................to be converted to prepaid.

Retain the number if the need BE.

Change your Tariff to ALL DAY Tariff at R1.50 per minute.

When you Top up with R50 you will receive 50 anytimes minutes to use Cell-C 2 Cell-C per week.

Recharge every Monday and see the difference in your Cellular Spend.

I have currently done this and it's working well.

Hope this helps.

I would urge you to stay with Cell C. I ported my Cell C number to MTN last year and oh what crap service I am receiving from them - convoluted billing, double billing, call limit locking that doesn't really work . . . but to name a few.

Thanks for the tip - I think I'll give it a try. At the moment it costs me R280 p/m for the Active Chat 100 contract, if I go over 100 minutes or use use the web it's even more. Now that they have the All Week 100 contract giving you 100 anytime minutes a month I begin to wonder why I should pay R280 for basically the same service!
