I'm switching back to MTN soon. I left Vodacom because of the constant problems with making and receiving calls, even when I have full signal. "Network Busy" at 03:00 on a sunday morning. Lots of dropped calls. Lot's of calls that connect with no sound. People tell me they phone me, they hear the phone ring, but I don't answer. My phone doesn't ring at all, sometimes I don't get an SMS saying I have voice mail.
Only, I didn't know CellC is haning off Vodacom. Now when I'm chatting to another CellC subscriber, and we both happen to hang off CellC towers, it seems OK. But as soon as either of us have to route through Vodacom, or worse, if I call a non-CellC number, the problems return.
In the last two or so months, I've developed a new problem. Sometimes I hear my own voice echo REALLY LOUDLY - so much that I end up haning up and phoning again.
This is BS. It's the worst service ever. Vodacom just doesn't seem interested in upgrading their network to cope with their ever increasing traffic, and CellC needs to get off Vodacom real soon. My colleagues who are on MTN have non of this BS at all.

Cell C dosen't generally doesn't hang off VDC anymore. Only in some out of the way places. 90% of their network is their own now. Make sure you select Cell C as the network in your handset, and not automatic or Vodacom.
just tell them u getting a specific fone from voda/cellc and ask them if they can give u the same...rsachoc said:
i'm on mycall 100, my fne was up for a upgrade so I called my SP and asked them for a w800i, they said i need to pay in R799 if I want that fone...I just told them cancel the contract as I'm getting the same fone PLUS free bluetooth headset for Reduced rates a month from Vodacom...
...the lady called me back in 2mins saying she can give me the fone but no bluetooth headset...
you need to beat these guys at thier own game...each SP has over a 1000 different packages...they can make 1 up for you...

Cell c special - free nokia phone and Dell notebook on activechat 220 through Game. Not bad. I'm still with MTN and happy though (well, as happy as one can get on a local cell network). Cell c really try hard, I must admit. And at least MTN is as far from Telkom as they can get at this stage.

Cellc hardly ever hangs VDC network.only in certain ereas , but coverage is good never in 2 years that i have been with them have i had problems with making or receiving calls.
They are very hard @ work making the customers satisfactory grow.
