Cell C's broadband plans

They finally turn a profit after many years of being in the RED now they want to extend there bad service, poor coverage and pathetic customer relations to broadband? I say perfect the basics then come out and play with the big boys:D

There 2G network is pathetic ! Now i wonder wat their 3G network will be like ... Besides Cell C is aimed @ the lower end of the market.

Cellc might not have quick internet

cellc might not have quick internet but at least they dont lie about what speed you can get on their network, have you ever really had more then 700kbps on vodacom, i live in durban and never get more then 350kbps. 7.2mbps my butt,

whats the point for getting 3g card for home use if you never get a constant speed, we might bi*** and moun about telkom but they do give the best service. It might be a rip off, but its still the most reliable.

I'd say .. come back when they can match 56k dial up speeds ;)

A cheaper option than investing in their own 3G/HSDPA network will be to piggyback on Vodacom’s extensive third generation network. Cell C already has a roaming agreement with Vodacom for its voice services, but has previously indicated that prohibitive wholesale costs for data roaming on the Vodacom network limits a potential partnership in this regard.

Now I wonder </not> where they got THAT pricing model from? <telkom legacy="pricing">burn the buggars</telkom>

Well it is easy to collapse into that conclusion when you've NEVER had anything "world class" to compare it to.

Go to Taiwan, where the Telekoms company rep calls you 4 weeks after you've had your ADSL line installed to know when you are home so they can come and do maintenance. When they are packing up their gear after the maintenace (we still live in the SA mind-set) so you naivly ask: "So, what did you do, and how much do I owe you?" and the reply comes: "We upgrade you to much faster line. No. No charge. Hav nice day. Goo bye."

Now THAT is first class. You cannot get THAT in SA ... on ANY network.

Please do us a favour: please b i t c h. Maybe then we can get some world class into this backwater.

I defence, I use CellC and never had any serious issues or problems with them.

When we were down in the bundus at PE, I managed to get excellent (3G) speeds with my CellC sim and a Nokia 3G phone...

Might also depend on network congestion in certain areas.
