Cell phone antivirus?

I have a Nokia 6110 navigator that I use on VC as a modem on my PC, I also use it fairly frequently for mobile browsing, GMail etc. There is an introductory F-Secure app on the phone, this will expire soon and require a subscription to keep going.

Is it really necessary to run an antivirus on the phone, and if so can I get some recommendations?

I registered the F-Secure. Was not too pricey. And yes, you can get a cellphone virus, or a windows virus that passes through.

Thanks Garyvdh, presumably you are not aware of any freeware apps since you paid the F-Secure subscription?
