CellC 3G in Midrand and Warmbaths?

Good morning everyone,

So what happens when you try to use the new 2GBpm packages in other areas not yet launced? Like Midrand or Warmbaths? No connection? EDGE speeds? 3,6mbps speeds?
 
Someone said that it worked in Midrand proper, but I tried it on the other side of the hill, towards Diepkloof and it didn't work there.

I'm going past Warmbaths on Saturday, will test it (if I remember).
 
Well, since it's not been launched yet, I am gonna go with EDGE and talking about the Midrand area. I have huge signal problems currently with CellC anyway and I stay 1km away from vodaworld. I had to change to roam on VC just so that I can make and receive calls from anyone.
 
You will most probably ping pong between edge and 3G as the sites are worked on in preparation for the launch.
 
Cool, bought a sim Saturday.

GSMarena tells me that my phone supports:
2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network: HSDPA 2100

So its probably not compatible with Cell C 900 UTMS?
 
Damn-it, my 3G modem doesn't support it either. So there is no way to see if cell c 3G is lurking around my house?

/except for the coverage map of course...
