Not really using Cellc prepaid but have a sim in a phone just to check the latest promotions and stuff.

This message was sent last night.

"Our 50c per minute promotion ends 30/09/2014. From 1/10/2014 your call rates will change back to 66c per minute on per second billing. Cell C"

I think it might not be a big deal breaker for most but will move Cellc from the lowest call rate carrier to the second lowest with MTN leading the pack with their 60c per minute rate.

Just some handy info for those that might not have gotten a sms. :)

Unless it was extended, the 60c MTN promo rate ended on 31 August according to their original T's & C's. So far as I know they're back at R0.79 p/min.

EDIT: MTN extended until 30 November.

The laziness factor will kick in, i will be simply too much effort to change for very small "temporary" saving on other networks. The 66c is a good enough rate, to make one not want to go through the hassle.

Yeah probably not worth the effort to port for a 6c per minute saving for 2 months unless MTN extends it again or make it permanent. That said Cellc would no longer be able to use the word Lowest call rate in the ads due to this. Would be interesting to see what happens.
