CellC; Absolutely pathetic service.

I am ranting on behalf of my sister, who has been trying to upgrade her contract phone for close to three weeks now.

First, a two week wait for the Walmer Park branch (in Port Elizabeth) of CellC to get the particular phones (two come with the upgrade she was hoping for), and all she got was promises for two weeks, and not once did CellC contact her to update on the progress, each and every time she had to phone them.

Eventually, they said she can go to the Greenacres branch across town and do it there, which she was able to do today, with some difficulty, due to her schedule.

We get to the store (I happen to be with her), and the process appears to be going smoothly, details are taken, the rather dour women she is dealing with is plunking data into the PC, and from the back she fetches the two phones that come with the upgrade.

As the process appears to be winding down the woman says 'oh, you will have to fetch the phones during the week sometimes, I can't put the one phone on our system'. This was not done very gracefully either.

My sister is very nice, and we left the shop, after promises (that in our view are pretty worthless coming from CellC) that things would get sorted out and the phones sent to the Walmer park branch by Tuesday.

Now, by this point I was pretty pissed off, having listened to the exchange, and observed the bovine like behaviour of the person at the store, and we decided to go back to complain.

The salesperson now tells us that the Walmer Park branch made the mistake, and they should have known that they were having computer problems, and it's basically their fault.

Which is bull****, since it was clear that she didn't even know off the issue (which she would, I presume, have told us about at the start of the process) until the end of the contract upgrade process she made my sister sit through in the first place.

FFS.

In any event, the upshot is likely that all CellC contracts in our family will now be changed over to another provider, because this is an absolutely insulting level of customer service.

All I can say CellC, is get your ****ing shops in order, and employ staff who have at least some degree of customer relation skills.

That said, even more importantly, CellC as a parent company must pull their socks up, and support their poor staff, who are at the mercy of corporate policy and *******s like me, when they have to deal with matters that are of course not their fault.
 
How many CellC shops are there in PE?
Most large malls have at least 1, and they are normally open until at least 6pm.
