CellC enabling unsolicited SMS spamming?

Every since I ported to MTN it feels that the amount of unsolicited SMS has increased. Perhaps just a coincidence, but I can't recall this happening at MTN. When I see the number is high - I talk about 1-3 a month (but the point being, I should not receive a single one).

Latest one is a spammy one from media24: thebundle[dot]co[dot]za

I've never gotten any spam, other than from CellC itself and my bank (which isn't really spam is it?)

I am with Cell C and get a a lot of SMS spam from them as well as other 3rd parties. I really don't remember signing up for this as I usually go out my way to exclude myself from SMS promotion - Though I may have let one slip through. Sometimes I reply 'STOP' to the spam but I don't always think the solicitors respect my decision as I continue to receive more.

I do how ever use a spam filter app on my android phone that does block the common ones.

Well, CellC came back with "Due to RICA we do not share customer information with 3rd parties and any SMS you receive from us are our promotional ones". Response from WASPA was great - they identified that the sender was a non-WASPA member and the forwarded the complaint to MTN (I doubt anything will happen though).
