Cell C did it again, on their Home Connecta Flexi packages.

In March they abruptly discontinued many high-end packages without releasing a media statement to notify the public.

And today they quietly increased prices of these packages without notice or a media statement.

Package Was Now
* 4GB R45 R45
* 12GB R89 R89
* 20GB R139 R149 R10 Increase
* 50GB R169 R229 R60 Increase
* 80GB R189 R299 R110 Increase

These new prices are crazy, but my concern is still, their secrecy.

When they introduce new offers to the market, they inform us well in advance but when pulling out they always do it quietly! Why?

Many thanks for the update. This is ridiculous. I will also be leaving ...

Prepaid data feast with cellc is over.
They are still offering the lower prices on 24 month contracts but I hope nobody here signs up after the way Cell C has treated us!

Their Facebook page has thousands of complaints about how they just changed their prices without any warning and they don't seem concerned. Really hope that their prepaid customers leave in droves and don't return.

Please post more details about your new service if you are planning on ditching Cell C as I think that many customers are looking around for something more affordable or have had enough of Cell C.

I doubt that Cell C can be expecting that their prepaid customers will continue to use the Home Connecta Flexi service after two large unannounced price increases within a month!

Telkom currently has an 80GB for 149pm package and a 160GB for 199pm one which are unfortunately only available on contract.

They also have two unlimited off peak products one prepaid for R229pm (250GB) and another (on contract?) for R349pm (350GB).

I am on the HCF 1TB LTE plan. I am not seeing that in their menu options anymore and the store closest to me quietly shut it's doors.

I tried calling their support number but the bot just keeps redirecting me to itself again. Is email cancellation the only way to move forward?

I'll be impressed if Cell C manages to turn things around with this strategy of chasing customers away!

The 1TB offer is still available to customers on 24 month contracts but Telkom is now offering 2TB for R699 - R200 less - so I can't see any customers staying with Cell C for much longer.

Cell C is still advertising the 80GB for R189 deal on page 4 of the Connector booklet on their home page!

Mine goes off via debit order. The few time I managed to get a hold of an agent I had to verify my details much like a contract sim, I am guessing they signed me up for a 24 month contract to save me the hassle of buying airtime and converting it every month.

I really hope that they haven't quietly put you onto a contract and now expect you to pay a R5500 cancellation fee like those poor customers in the other Cell C thread. Their Facebook page is just overflowing with unhappy customers.

The current Cell C customers really need to punish this company by leaving and warning others about these underhanded practices.

Lol anyone that didn't see the signs with that initial price increase and data volume decrease bulls#*t must just leave Cell C now. They're unhinged and self sabotaging.
