As confirmed with the CellC Call Centre last week Monday, there is currently a Network problem in Mpumalanga.
So this is almost 2 weeks that I'm sitting with wasted data bundles, due to failed downloads, flat batteries due to signal being lost and found the whole time.

It's just getting beyond ridiculous to be honest.
I can't do the most tasks without time-outs and loss of connection. My Vodacom BIS on my Blackberry is faster than my CellC HSDPA connection.

CellC. Sort out your mess.

The Network settings received from the Call Centre do nothing to alleviate the problem, in fact it slows things down even more.

Don't feel alone. We have to report network problems about every day in Johannesburg.
The fix it, work fine for about 3 hours and then the same old story.
Now we are told that they are upgrading the network, but they do not warn any clients,so the poor client is losing all the way wasting data.

Will Cell-C compensate us for all the data we have lost?
I really start to come to the point to move on because Cell-C is screwing us.

The same with data that you buy and if you don't use it by the end of the month, you lose it.
I rather go to Vodacom that give me rollover and don't steal from the clients.

I do not feel alone about this, but I do feel like an ******* because I persuade a few friends to switch to Cell-C, now they sit with the same dilemma as I do.

Drop calls is the order of the day.
Receive SMS's 3 days late.
Data Network most of the day [Not most of the week] but most of the day it does not work. No throughput.
It does connect but that is about it.

It is really start to annoy the daylights out of me.

Come on Cell-C get you act together or loose the subscribers that you have. Your service really sucks.
Inform us when you work on the network.
TALK TO YOUR CLIENTS AND STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR CLIENTS.

It's like a catalogue of errors at Cell-C right now.
Making everything more complicated AND failing to deliver the network. It's sad, because SA NEEDS more competition rather than less; but since Alan Craig Knot's left, its all negative news for the customer.

Maybe Orange will finally decide to come in and either buy-up Cell-C/Telkom or something; maybe ICASA is stopping them?!

I'm on prepaid. I'm giving it until this weekend then I'm melting this Sim card with my lighter... I've had enough. 300Mb wasted on nothing. Not even 1 app downloaded.

Don't burn the sim card. Just port the number...

I use it for data only, so don't really care about the number. Do I still need to RICA if I port or not? If I don't need to RICA, then I'll port.

Cell C promised a perfect network in November 2013. Still nothing.
They care more about advertising than their network.

Phalaborwa also seem to have a network issue has been ongoing since last week when i arrived (backhaul provider is Telkom, either they don't have enough capacity) cause MTN and CELL C both give me problems when running speedtest at the same time, no throughput at the same time...

If that line goes down all networks in the area go down....

I'm still surprised why anyone who's not locked into contract is still using Cell C.... Really, it's over for them.

I use CELL C for their data(reasonable prices) compared to others out there overcharging exorbitant fees.

I did have a Virgin Mobile contract and once the term came to an end, cancelled immediately cause of the frequent dropped calls and no signal whatsoever on my premises.

I had problems as well and contacted DM and things were better until a few days ago. Now, it is terrible! I am tired of complaining about the same thing, I have already ported my number back to its original network. I am going to port my daughter's number as well because Cell C is just not the network for anyone who needs a decent network with decent services. With Vodacom, at least you have a better chance of using your modem than wasting 200 Gigs, I would rather pay more for better.

I have already got a buyer for the useless sim, I am keeping the modem to use with Voda.

EDIT: I am actually telling people I know to stay away from this network, telling them about my horrible experiences.
