I've contacted Errol Sambu at VM to find out about EDGE coverage in our area and he told me that he will contact CellC to give an answer.
Kobus Prinsloo from CellC phoned me now to tell me that our area is on there upgrade list and that within 6 Mths they will build
CellC's own tower here. He also told me that we will have EDGE then as well.
Thanks Kobus (CellC) for the good news.
Thanks Errol (VM) for contacting CellC.

That is good to hear. I have EDGE reception with Virgin almost everywhere I go, no matter how small the town. Better coverage is always good

LOL@ edge.. Spose one shouldnt complain, any 'upgrade' is better than nothing.

I did not ask Kobus but i think maybe these CellC towers are for the areas they identified so far as "unstable"

What about the unstable 3g areas - are their any of those?

I did not ask about 3G, we talked about the unstable GPRS signal that we have because of our existing tower that is overloaded and that the new tower is the only way to solve the problem, and that EDGE will be available too.
