CellC seems to have the best value for money in their contracts.

Anytime 200 on MTN gives you around 86 minutes of calls.
On Straight Up 200 (CellC) you get 200 for the same price + 200sms + 200mb

That's a very big difference.

Sure if you want a fancy phone MTN might be better but for just a straight contract CellC seems way better.

Of course there are things like call quality, reception, etc. but I checked the coverage map for CellC and it seems pretty good.

I think when my contract is up I am going to port.

I'm porting in next month when my MTN contract expires.

My only concern is signal strength and consistency overall. Will be sticking to pre-paid for the first 2 or 3 months before signing up for a Straight Up package (no phone)

Ported from Vodacom to Cell C, had a few problems with dropped calls in the beginning, but haven't had an issue in a while, I actually find that their signal is way more consistent than Vodacom's.

I ported from VC to CC and I can honestly say that the call quality is way worse than VC. I get dropped calls daily.

It is MUCH cheaper tho. I'm still not sure its worth the change..

Got to agree... Vodacom covers the gaps LOL... and Cellc seems to cover every other place that i go to. so i have coverage everywhere... Used to have really crappy signal on VC at home. And my wife STILL has crappy signal on MTN at home. CellC on the other hand is awesome, and 3G at home....go CellC!!!

Since I discovered the manual setting on my Android phone to change from Cell C to Vodacom roaming, I have the best of both - just switch as the need arise, cost stays the same ;-)
