Cellphone Contracts

Hi Folks,

Some time last year there was talk about regulations changing how cellphone contracts will work. For instance the period will no longer have to be two years, cancellation costs will be based on the device costs, etc.

I know Vodacom threaten to take ICASA to court and the implementation was postponed to Jan / Feb this year.

Does anyone know whats the status of these regulations? I have two contracts coming up for renewal and holding out until it is implemented.

I wouldn't hold out if I were you, it's unlikely this is going to be sorted out any time soon. Vodacom will be fighting with ICASA for some time to come I think
