Cellphone insurance

Hey guys,

Just got a new samsung galaxy s2 and i want to get it insured.

What are the best companies and best rates etc?

I see hippo estimated around R100 per month for R5K cover through budget.

Thoughts?

Half the value of the phone over the two years it takes to get another one...

No idea, but i would take it as i got my other phone stolen recently so had to for out 4K to get a new phone

I got my iphone insured through auto & general at 9k for 99pm. Got no other policies with them and went direct.

To quote directly from the policy doc:

+1 for Auto and General. Though if you have any existing insurance policy you can usually add it on for less. I pay R40 for 6k cover as an add on for my home contents policy, it's specifically covered as a cellphone, portable possession cover does not cover cell phones.

Hmmm, just checked out A&G and they came in at R102,50 per month for 5k cover. The same as budget insurance.
