I found a cool looking cellphoen watch on Think Geek

http://www.thinkgeek.com/clearance/megadeals/9c9d/

and was considering buying it.. I went onto the Vodacom website to check if they would mention anything about what it required for a cellphone to work in teh country and noticed that on their front page they have an competition for a cellphone watch... The one on think geek LOOKS cooler tho'

can anyone tell me whether the watch on thinkgeek will work in South Africa? if it will work i fear my already damaged credit card might be dealt the final blow....

it says they cannot ship outside of the US

so unless you have post box there or something

that I can sort out but whether or not it will work here... they says its an ulocked triband phone...but then they list the SP you need ot be with... so....not sure

and......was it as cool as I think it would be.. did you feel like dick tracy?

You dont talk to the watch, i think.
You use the Blue tooth headset, and its a rather bland looking watch especially considering you gonna be pressing buttons and flaunting it:p
Its a small lil thing Ill post a pic.

i think it will make me look like an idiot ... felt like an idiot wearing a bluetooth headset ... so with this watch coupled with the bluetooth thingy ... geez ... i shudder to think what an @rse id look :)

Does this also have a feature a voice dial? i.e. calling names up from phonebook to dial numbers? if it does it would be a very useful phone for people who are legally blind i.e. between 5% and 20% vision etc, I would like to get one for my wife because she battles with a normal hand held phone, she also had the talking watch which I believe is part of the wrist phone correct? also Bluetooth will play an important part!
Will it ever come here to S.A. and if as you say it works here in SA can't we order through someone over there?...To most it's a gimmick but to some it's an essential tool...take care!:)

Theres a few around, not sure if and when it will be available on contract or at the stores. Theres navigation buttons on the sides of the watch so I dont think theres voice dialing or voice commands.

I have a pic but the watch is ontop of some "protected" documents lol!

There are better phone/watches around other than the M300, theres a citizen one in gawdy gold and a the Sony Ericsson one which is obviously the BEST of the lot.

Pics...

i was also considering buying that same watch from THINKGEEK and have my children bring it over next week but with only 60mb memory i was worried about what i could put on there so i decided not to get it. popular mechanics show one in one of their issues for R4500.00. i might still look at the THINKGEEK one in the future though.

I went overseas and saw the Watch and I liked it. The one I bought has the bluetooth headset and a normal headset and you can talk into the watch (has a Microphone and Speaker). Whats also great is that it has a Music player so I just download from my PC to the phone and voila.... works like a charm. It works on all networks. I have 2 or 3 of them available if anyones interested.

The following is included.
