Good morning

Took my car for service today so decided to use a public transport. I'm amazed by how many people drive, while busy on their cellphone I counted about 11 drivers were driving and busy on their phone.

Most cars now days have bluetooth even cheap cars have bluetooth. I wonder why people don't use car bluetooth to answer calls and step aside if need to reply whatsapp message.

I travel by motorbike to work. The amount people who are busy on their phones is crazy. And not taking phone calls. They are clearly texting and/or reading on their phone. It's actually quite scary.

I got on a Rea Vaya bus from Parktown, before we got to the Milpark Station some lady almost drove in front of the bus I was in because she was busy texting... Then she got pissed off because somehow the bus was in her way even though it was on the bus lane... Idiot...

People are idiots.

They should use 'ok google' only takes 40 mins of swearing to dial the wrong person.

People do not value their lives, they rather take their eyes off the road and look at a phone. Anything can happen in a split second.

It's apparently still legal to operate it if it's not on you, for instance mounted in a cradle. That's how one poster here justified his cellphone use in a car.

I'm not so much worried about their lives as the lives of innocent road users they will be wiping out.

I, too, see it all the time along William Nicol from the Gaubus.

And yes - most of them aren't talking on their phones, they're texting or swiping away with half a hand on the wheel and no eyes on the road at all.

Men, women, all races and classes. What are they, ****ing stupid?

LOL,

My phone, laptop, bag etc are always in the boot.

I say "hello phone" to answer (rings a little longer) or click the green phone on the bluetooth display (is quicker, so I will use it if stationary at traffic lights).

The police hate me at roadblocks.
Cop:"license please"
Me: May I exit the vehicle to get my license out the boot?
Cop 99% of the time: No stay inside. Just go. (or similar)

People have entirely lost the concept of vehicles being heavy machinery and that they should be treated as such.

There is absolutely nothing that important that you need to consult your phone to respond to it while driving.

The problem is not phoning, car's got Bluetooth and it works quite well for voice calls. Problem is I was reading mybroadband on tapatalk on the train and now traffic is doing 20km/h on the highway, could just as well finish those articles I was busy with..
