Cellphones and charging

My S3's charger recently packed up and I bought a new one, Energizer or some cheap brand. It seems to charge the phone rather quickly, but the charge also does not seem to last that long, ie. the battery drains quickly. I experience this when charging via USB as well. Have I gone mad, or is there an explanation for this?

Crappy charge.

Hope you didn't damage your battery.

No idea why people go cheap when powering their expensive electronics.
 
A friend mentioned a while back that he has this issue with his S1 when charging via the PC with the USB cable.

I take it you don't know how electronics work.

Your crappy charger probably damaged the phone and/or battery.

Damage is already done.

No. The USB issue was there from the day I had the phone. The wall socket charger's charged seemed to last a lot longer than the USB charge.

Then it's probably do to not enough charge being supplied by both.

Is it a laptop usb port or a usb port on front the front of a case?

Both are notorious for not supplying enough charge.

Try the usb port on the back of the motherboard if you have a pc.

Yeah I suppose it's not supplying enough charge. It was the front facing ones on my work PC. I don't often charge from the laptop. Never tried a car charger. Still odd that it would still show it's fully charged, but the charge does not last as long as with the proper charger. But anyway...first world problems hey :D
