Cellucity - poor cyber hygeine

What work was required on the phone?

Dropped off my iPhone at Cellucity to have some work done on it and the first question they asked me was 'what's the unlock code'
Honestly. They need to train their staff.

Same thing happened to me at the iStore at Canal Walk. I just gave them a blank stare and then factory reset the phone.

Muppets.

I hope you said its the same as yours and then watched them enter their code?

Shouldn't the customer be backing up, resetting, and removing all passwords before handing the phone over? That would negate the staff having to ask at all.

I would rather buy a new phone than ever share my phone's password with anyone. Reseting or wiping is not to be taken lightly, it's huge ballache to get all your banking apps reregistered, 2FA for other apps, etc.

Too much effort. I give them my pin (or rather unlock when necessary) but sit around while they do the job to make sure they don’t snoop on my ****.

Ha ha, to me, switching pins and remembering the new one (after sharing the old one) would be more effort than a wipe and restore.

Hi Willie, and everyone else that's commented. Apologies for the tardy reply :)

Points taken and noted and will share with the tech's, they do require passcode for certain jobs, but it should be explained better and client advised on options to protect privacy.

Tech's require customers Passcode and to be signed out of FMI, before being able to recalibrate a device on Apples GSX system.

Will advise our colleagues at The Real Repair Co, to better explain.
