I have noticed lately that some of my more "anti-MC" posts on the dstv.co.za forums have been deleted. I complained in the public forum under a different login name, and my one post was placed back within 24 hours.

Have any of you noticed this new trend on the MC forums? They will only post messages possitive to MC?

Anyone able to spell SAUK.....

Does that really surprise you? That's what to be expected, no?

Happens on all forums... look at dstv, mceguide, bidorbuy forums, creative, etc, etc....

I have worked in a corporate company where consumer website forums were used to monitor customer comments.

The norm was that if there were more than one post made regarding exactly the same issue, or in other words multiple posts made by different users regarding the same matter a request would be made to have the 'duplicate' posts deleted.

Maybe the same principle is being applied.

Removing relevant posts is stupid imo - it means the company has something to hide.

I understand the removal of spam...

But, for example, if someone starts a thread about MC offering the mnet HD channel as upscaled HD - and MC remove, it just proves that person correct.

Also, if more than one thread is started on a similar topic, they should merge them... not delete them

If MC pay any kind of subscription fee to this site then they'll have some sort of an SLA and will be able to negotiate what is posted and not to a certain degree.

If not and this is plain and simple a carte blanche type open firum then the site administrators normally have full say.

I find it quite funny. Seems little old me's opinion (one post) regarding the MC EPG inaccuracy has earned me a lifetime ban. I have tried to post on the DSTV forum for the past 2 weeks (some posts even containing some nice words towards MC just to try my luck), but every post is greeted with a "to be moderated" message and none has been let through. Seems MC is even worse than the SABC when it comes to censorship. I find this all quite funny to be honest.

The post that seemed to have gotten me banned for life from the DSTV forum addressed some of their more obvious EPG mistakes during December 2009.

Well people - it seems the DSTV EPG is not to be fooled with. Be too critical and be banned by the DSTV forum moderators... lol
