CentOS CD vs DVD images?

Can't find anything on the CentOS site but what do the dvd images include compared to the cd image?

Will a cd image suffice?

Generally speaking, DVD images allow you to select from several GIUs, such as Gnome, KDE, and such. There are also more packages on the DVD images, which allow you to configure the installation for multiple purposes, example: development, web server, and such. Also, it's much better to have a DVD image if you will be using the installation offline. Note that in many cases, the DVD image does not support the live boot environment, whereas the CD image does.

Not going to swear to this but the only Centos 6.3 CD on offer is the live CD which you can't install from.

The DVDs give you a full range of install options from minimal to total, most only need DVD1 but it's wise to get DVD2 just in case.

... looks as though Live install to HD is now possible:

You can now install the Live environment to your hard disk (which wasn’t
possible with the 5.x Live medias). Please note that you need more that
512Mb of ram to be able to use that ‘install to hard drive’ feature (If
you have less than 512Mb of ram, you can install to disk but in
text-mode, meaning that instead of clicking on the desktop icon, you
have to launch a gnome-terminal and launch the ‘liveinst’ command from
within the terminal)
