CentOS - how to get client to login to server

I honestly dont know why I'm finding this so difficult, but I just cannot get a client computer to login to my ldap server.

I got the ldap server up and running and in the client computer, I went to System>Administration>Authentication, ticked LDAP, put in the ldap server IP address, tick Enable LDAP support....but, true as bob, the client computer keeps on logging in to the local macine.

Really could use some help, cos I'm stumped. :sick:
 
Ok, I got phpLDAPadmin running....but now I need to figure out the config.php file. :)

*Surely there must be something similar to Windows Server Active Directory Users and Groups in Linux??
 
Are you trying to join a Windows AD domain? Or create a Linux based AD domain master/slave to be handled by the Centos box? In either case you would not need phpLDAPadmin.
 
I'm just setting up a pure Linux based AD domain.

That's why I'm stumped why I am finding it so difficult to do it....must obviously be doing something wrong. :)
 
Looks like I did it all wrong.....just read about the CentOS directory server.

Thought there must be something like that in Linux!
 
Got it working....love the Directory Server management console! Yay!!
