I replaced a control card for D5 gate motor a short time ago and everything was working perfect. But recently the card has started mulfunctioning. If you give a command from the remotes or intercom the TRG signal light comes ON and a clicking sound of the relay is heard but the gate does not move.I have checked the fuses, motor and Connections and found all OK.I am asking if there is anyone who could have faced this problem before and how was it fixed. Are there any test points on the card for fault diagnostics. This card is fairy new that I didn't anticipate any problems so early.

have you tested the relay? i know you say you hear it tick, but have you confirmed continuity on the contacts for example?

I have highlighted the relay contacts on the card so I am asking what sort of tests are you recommending ?Its unfortunate the relays on this card dont have transparent covers for one to see the internals like on other cards.

Get the schematic for the relay online, then apply voltage to the coil and see if you have continuity through the switched contact.

Jump through this video and see how he tests the relays

Disconnect the battery, switch charger of at mains. Leave for 30 minutes. Connect everything. Try again. Works with mine.

Carried out some tests as per your recommendations. All fuses checked were OK.Then checked if contacts were closing when relay clicks.(The N/O contacts highlighted with blue marker)The contacts are closing nicely.Tested them as per video attachment above.I later discovered that the problem is on the transistor contacts highlighted with a yellow marker. That transistor is the one which supplies the relay contacts with power.

The moment you press the Test button on the card the relay momentarily energise as well as the transistor which closes to supply power to the relays with its middle terminal. This I confirmed with another card I had for testing purposes.Prior to pressing the Test switch there is voltage on the outer 2 terminals of the transistor which is switched on to the relays on receiving command signal. So on the mulfunctioning card the transistor is not closing on command signal.

But funny enough if you fit a set link and go into programming mode as if you want to do the limits set up,the moment you release the Test switch as if to start automatic gate set up the motor is running meaning the transistor is closing.Once out of programming mode the problems starts again. It's now confusing.
