Centurion municipal account

Hey all,

I have a quick question about my municipal account. I recently bought a new house and and I had to transfer the electricity, sanitation and water into my name. When I did this, I had to pay a deposit of R620. Last week Thursday I received my first statement saying that I had to pay R690 odd. The problem that I have is that R70 is electricity as it was only 7-10 days and the rest is a deposit of R620. Is this deposit the deposit I already payed or is it an additional deposit, and if so why?

Any help would be appreciated.

Keep your receipts for money paid, and wait until you receive your next statement, these payments are usually a bit laggy.

Durban is holding over R2000 of mine as a deposit.

Hmm, this is a 3 year old question that that was only answered now.

But to answer it myself. It was just the security deposit, but they adjusted it a few times.
