We recently tried to get a fibre connection in Century City through MWeb Connect. Some surprising things happened:

1) Century City Connect refuses to offer some products to office larger than 100 square meters. E.g. you cannot get a 10Mbps contended fibre connection.
2) Apparently Century City does not allow trenching for either Neotel Fibre or Telkom Metroclear. (This I have not yet confirmed)

The combination of the two does mean that Century City has managed to eliminate all competition and are forcing residents/offices into using specific products as specific prices.

This is slightly frustrating. Did anybody else have this experience?

If Century City is a privately owned development, then yes that can stop Telkom and Neotel from trenching, and there will be nothing you can do about it.

As for limiting the product to an office size, that is a choice they make, you can appeal to them but I doubt you could do anything about it legally.

Where about in Century City are you? We have a 10M uncapped line and we could possibly bond to get faster through Telkom if we desired.
