Where can I find a Ceramic Stand-Alone Panel Heater, with a temperature control dial?

The Econo-Heat Panel heaters only have On/Off switches, otherwise I would buy one of these and build a stand.

Thanks for that, didn't know they made those.

Unfortunately that brings the total cost to just over R1000 for the "system". Surely there must be an equivalent to the wall mounted one but with a simple stand. It can even be smaller than the standard one.

These heaters don't really work like that so putting it on a stand won't help at all.

It's passive heating in that it heats the air gap between the panel and the wall and then relies on moving air in the room to move it around, which is also why you want to keep your windows open a crack.

Putting it on a stand will not make it heat anything but itself.

My intention is to place it very close to the wall on a stand, because I don't want to make any holes in the wall and also plan to take it with me as I am moving in a few months. I might not get it as close to the wall as you do when you mount directly, but I'm sure it will be close enough.

My biggest issue is the safety aspect of other heaters, these you can comfortable leave on the entire night.
