Anyone have some recommendations for a chamber vacuum sealer? My Genesis is costing an arm and a leg with the embossed bags.
One that can do liquid as well.

Chamber sealers are very expensive. You may as well just keep buying the Genesis bags.

Google for a brother vacuum sealer. You can sometimes find them on gumtree as well. I think they start at around R13k (last time I checked).

For small quantities the Genesis works but when you are packing a whole sheep or side of beef it is a different story altogether hence the need for a chamber vacuum unit

Just make sure. Vacuum machines are big and I won't want to be moving them the whole time. So they will stand on your counter. Also don't thing you will fit them in a cupboard because they are so big.

Datadyn,

Contact Safari-vac. They have a Vacmaster in-chamber machine which gets good reviews and it seems like a quality product. The price for this type of machine is also not bad. The others like Orved and Henkelman are way too expensive for home use.

Safari-vac's reviews are not good, seems the owner by the name of Chris Johnson does not deliver once paid according to reviews on Hello Peter, maybe if you are close enough to physically collect it might work. Was told by one of the butchers here locally to stay away from the Vac company, might be the same firm might not. He ordered and paid for a vacuum pump that was not delivered and can not get hold of the company. He said to beware of their online adds that just state contact the owner which he did to his everlasting regret.
This is why I want to find out from the broadband crowd what the recomendations are from peoploe that actually have a chamber vacuum machine and where they bought it
