Well here's the link: http://changefifa.wordpress.com/2010/12/10/live-debate-on-the-future-of-football/

What do you make of it then? I don't have time to read it all right now, will do so after work. Seems like they want to hold some sort of meeting to try change things for the better (give footy back to the people)... etc etc. Load of hippy bollocks in my opinion.

Then again, I might reconsider once I've actually read the full script.

If FIFA was run as a 'democracy' then every member nation should have an executive member, then it will be a fairer voting process to use, to determine the country that will host the world cup.

FIFA is run like the mob, too much scandal for a sporting organisation.

IOC is'nt any different...

Sports is suppose to be a unifying vehicle of change, sadly its just about filling the deep pockets of a corrupt few.

Well, each continent (or federation) has a representitive, which member countries obviously vote for

It just grates my nerves when every year some FIFA official is caught taking bribes, or selling tickets, and every year, Bloater comes out and says FIFA isn't corrupt.

"Qatar’s bid had been gaining a good deal of notoriety, with its ambitious portable stadia, replete in zero carbon green. Concern about the heat when you’re not in the stadium was the main fault cited by the touring FIFA committee. You can be sure that they also took note of the fact that the reason the stadiums are portable is that the tiny Emirate will have no use for them after the party is over. Even though, Mohammed bin Hamman has been flying Herr Blatter around in his private jet for almost a decade, Sepp does have this quirky little thing about leaving a legacy behind, wherever he takes the tournament. Add to that the ultra conservative mores of the tiny nation and all bets suggest that the prospects of being jailed for drinking in excess, dressing to the minimum or kissing in public will limit traveling support in a place where there are only a handful of paying customers to begin with".

Is this not a conflict of interest?
